October 12, 201014 yr comment_333259 The hose definitely does need to be fuel/oil rated. I've seen heater hose practically dissolve in this application. The last one I bought was from Nissan, but I've since heard they are NLA. The factory hose had/has some sort of bottle-brush looking strainer inside it, but I really doubt that is necessary. I've been told that NAPA stores often have a decent selection of bulk oil-rated hose in various sizes. October 12, 201014 yr Author comment_333268 Thanks Arne,I'll try NAPA, everywhere else I have looked doesn't carry a oil/gas rated hose in that large of a diameter. October 12, 201014 yr comment_333271 Thanks Arne,I'll try NAPA, everywhere else I have looked doesn't carry a oil/gas rated hose in that large of a diameter.mally002, I had trouble finding that same fuel rated 5/8 inch inner diameter hose a few months ago as I wanted to replace the hose on the gas tank that is all the way in the back of the tank that goes to the filler hose. I couldn't find it here at NAPA or at Shuck's auto supply but found a fuel rated multipurpose rubber hose that is 5/8 inch inner diameter at Andy's supply in Boise at (208) 344-3568. They told me they will sell the hose by phone order, this info added later.Mike edit: I just noticed someone is selling 5/8 inner diameter marine hose on ebay by the foot, it may be fuel rated.
