Posted October 12, 201014 yr comment_333210 This switch came out of a 72 240z... can anyone tell me if it was factory, a dealer installed option or aftermarket? And what, if any, value it has... October 12, 201014 yr comment_333217 That's an aftermarket ARA brand a/c control. I believe they were dealer installed. My '73 has one just like it. It has little value to me, since the new Vintage Air, etc., systems are much better than those old ones. October 12, 201014 yr comment_333219 Not factory, it was dealer installed/aftermarket. Factory air didn't come into play until the 260Z. The parts are of very little value since the systems were pretty inefficient. October 12, 201014 yr comment_333262 It would probably be of some value to an early Z owner who was trying to make a car "period correct". I had the ARA system dealer installed on my '71 shortly after buying it and it worked well. I now have the newer A/C system with a rotary compressor which doesn't "rob" as much power from the engine.Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37364-ac-switch-identification/#findComment-333262 Share on other sites
October 12, 201014 yr comment_333265 That would be true except they still sell new ones that look pretty much like that one at most AC shops. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37364-ac-switch-identification/#findComment-333265 Share on other sites
October 12, 201014 yr Author comment_333276 Thanks all... that's pretty much what I suspected... I guess I'll post it on ebay and let the market decide...
