Posted October 12, 201014 yr comment_333274 I bought an SU carb setup to install in place of the current 4bbl setup. I have rounded up almost all the parts to do the swap, but am missing one of the bolts and wingnut to attach the housing. I need the 'connector bolt' that holds the backing plate to the carb that the wingbolt screws into, as well as the wingbolt and washer with the seal. One set came with the air cleaner housing and I need one more. I searched and found this thread - http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28321&highlight=air+filter which reports they are no longer available through the dealer. I live in the Ft Worth area, and have checked with All Z's, but he does not have any. If anyone has a spare, or a source, let me know.My next issue is the seals on the housing itself, the ones that seal the cover to the backing plate, and the ones that seal the filter to the housing on both sides. These are also N/A so am looking to see if anyone has found a suitable alternative. I found one possibility at Steele Rubber that is peel-n-stick but need to measure what I have to see if it is the right size. Thanks in advance,Bryan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37371-air-cleaner-partsinfo-needed/ Share on other sites

October 12, 201014 yr comment_333280 I'm pretty certain I still have one spare set - both bolts (connector and wing) including the outer sealing washers. Send me a PM. October 12, 201014 yr comment_333282 The kit I bought a couple years back had the two gaskets that fit between the air filter base and the front of the carbs.....no idea on the part numbers.....most air cleaners have these gaskets still intact. All you need to do is carefully mask around them if you're doing a restoration. You might PM Bruce Palmer at Z Therapy.......I think he used to sell restored air cleaners and might be able to help you out on some gaskets.....while you're at it get your SU's rebuilt.....Steve needs the money to try and catch Greg! October 12, 201014 yr Author comment_333283 I do have the gaskets that go between the housing and the carbs. The ones I need are the big oval ones that are glued to the housing and seal the filter to the housing, and seal the housing to the backing plate. I may visit the local Mega-home improvement store to see if they have something that will work. October 12, 201014 yr comment_333284 Good Luck.....I think it would be much easier to buy a used air cleaner with the gaskets intact off of ebay. They're pretty cheap......clean up the inside with 000 steel wool .......no one sees that part anyway!
