g9m3c Posted November 1, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 1, 2010 I would have taken all of that stuff off before I took the glass and everything else off. Color looks good, though.

Logan's 240Z Posted November 8, 2010 Share #16 Posted November 8, 2010 Just wondering how you made your decision on primer and paint choices? Did you get advise from a painter or from the paint store? I'm going to be doing the exact same thing your doing but the job of picking the proper paint, primer, clear coat has me intimidated.Just looking for some info. Thanks,Roger
five&dime Posted November 17, 2010 Share #17 Posted November 17, 2010 Looking good. Nice choice with Devilbiss. I have been painting as a hobby for almost 7 years now and the gun makes all the difference!!!Logan's.... If it's within your budget I highly reccomend PPG. I have only used Omni and PPG and PPG blows Omni out of the water. That being said, if the budget is limited, I would use PPG or equivalent for the base coat and Omni for clear. PPG is much better for color matching.
Zs-ondabrain Posted November 17, 2010 Share #18 Posted November 17, 2010 Isn't Omni Made by PPG? Now I'm confused.I used Omni on my 70' (first paint job I'd ever done, in my garage or at all) And I could have sworn it said PPG on the can.Am I mistaken or something weird?Dave
grantf Posted November 18, 2010 Share #19 Posted November 18, 2010 Omni is sold by ppg, it is there "buget" brand.
five&dime Posted November 18, 2010 Share #20 Posted November 18, 2010 Yup^ It's about 1/2 price. But color matching is really tough with Omni. The clear seems more prone to orange peel from my experience.
