SMD is for Surface Mount(ed) Device, which is what all the little resistor & capacitor (and L.E.D.) 'chips' and ICs are on circuit boards lately, instead of being soldered the usual way.

That's how billboards are built. You could change the design or the colour at will, or maybe to blend in with the surroundings? Maybe even make the car look like a different car?

And I used to be ISO 9000 Certified for soldering SMT (Surface Mount Technology)

ANYWAYS........

I wanted to see how the white LED's would look where they are, as I now know that I will be doing something similar on the 260Z project. I'll be using 5mm white LED's similar to the LED's I use on all my other LED upgrades. Probably go with a 5000mcd 5mm round 40 degree veiwing angle. same color as the Audi (white with a blue tint)

Dave

Dave,

Those should work very well. Who makes the 40 degree angle LED's? Most I've seen in hi-power is 25 degree.

P.S. - I'm an ME, so my soldering skills are marginal on a good day!
