October 22, 201014 yr comment_334078 Have you tried looking in the factory service manual for the year of your Z? Also, I suggest posting the year of your car when asking for help. It helps in identifying variations that happen between different model years. October 22, 201014 yr comment_334080 Those are magnet valves. They control vacuum for the fast idle control (air conditioning) and the opening/closing of the mode doors under the dash for heating/air conditioning. Like Steve said, look in the FSM for the diagram, page AC-12. October 22, 201014 yr comment_334115 The info you're asking for is in the Air Conditioning section of the FSM. The page I noted in my other post is one of many in that section that shows how the magnet valves should be connected. October 22, 201014 yr comment_334120 That's a bit harsh, don't you think? I had to look in your profile to find out what year car you have. It would have been a little easier had you stated that in your post. A word to the wise: you won't get much help around here if you display that type of attitude....just sayin'.......... October 22, 201014 yr comment_334128 I see that you apologized to Steve, very good. I saw his reply to your post this morning and thought he asked the right question (what car) and gave you good advice about looking in the FSM. Your interpretation of his reply is was far, far, off base. This site is one of the greatest forums I've ever come across for ANY enthusiast group, and I belong to many. This site is truly dedicated to the preservation, information, performance and history of the S30. The members do not suffer fools. More importantly, the members just don't give advice, they educate. We take time to understand a problem so it can be dealt with in an efficient way.We are not customer service for Datsun. If you don't get an intimidate reply or a reply that you like, please understand that we have jobs and lives. Sometimes it is difficult to understand a request based on the information provided. The year of manufacture is important information because the S30's vary so widely between 240/260/280.I always worry about a member to a forum that has a handful of posts, asks a question and then tells a long-time member to go 'eff himself because his fragile ego was bruised. Take time to make friends with the forum members and you to may find this site an invaluable resource. October 22, 201014 yr comment_334134 For the record, I have several of the FSMs on my computer for Z cars that I've never owned, and I will look up things for people, especially for the electrical systems. However, I would have to know the year of the car since I don't know the variances between the 280Zs very well. When asking for help we also can't guess what you've tried. Some people don't use the FSM as their first resource, and many don't know they are available in electronic form. That's part of why I put the links that I have in my signature. While I was shocked at your early response. I'm glad you reconsidered. I hope you will become another active member of the forum.
