Steering help

Recommended Posts

I have a 71-240 Datsun Z, when i'm driving it, it seems to be a little squirrley. I have all polyurethane bushings in the front end. I have done an alignment, I have also put on new tires, and the struts are okay. What do you suggest I do to solve this problem, thanks, Joe...

Just to confirm, you've done the steering rack bushings? Those pretty much cured my wandering and re-centering problem.

We need more to help though, what speeds do you feel this? Is it mid-turn or anything? Does the steering wheel shimmy or is the car pulling? Are you feeling bump steer or does it feel unsettled/dart-ey?

Can you post your alignment numbers from the printout?

My tires are 205 60 15 and the faster I go the car seems to get looser from the back.I changed the rack bushings also. Thanks
