Posted October 25, 201014 yr comment_334281 I have a 71-240 Datsun Z, when i'm driving it, it seems to be a little squirrley. I have all polyurethane bushings in the front end. I have done an alignment, I have also put on new tires, and the struts are okay. What do you suggest I do to solve this problem, thanks, Joe... October 25, 201014 yr comment_334284 Can you post more details? What speeds does the problem show up? Can you be more descriptive than "squirrley"? Does the car pull to one side? Does the steering wheel shake? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37480-steering-help/#findComment-334284 Share on other sites
October 25, 201014 yr comment_334285 Your avatar looks like low profile tires, but what are you running? When I had 70's on my wheels, the car was not real responsive and had a bit of roll to it. October 25, 201014 yr comment_334310 Just to confirm, you've done the steering rack bushings? Those pretty much cured my wandering and re-centering problem. We need more to help though, what speeds do you feel this? Is it mid-turn or anything? Does the steering wheel shimmy or is the car pulling? Are you feeling bump steer or does it feel unsettled/dart-ey?Can you post your alignment numbers from the printout? October 25, 201014 yr comment_334316 It could be one of many things. I'd get the car on a lift and do a good inspection on the entire suspension. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37480-steering-help/#findComment-334316 Share on other sites
October 25, 201014 yr comment_334340 How recent are the struts? Worn rears can provide a bit of instability.... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37480-steering-help/#findComment-334340 Share on other sites
