Hi, im new here, ive owned an 82 280zx that i regret ever selling... im looking for a 79-83 nonturbo right now- i have my eye on an 83 with 102k silver leather seats,nice interior- dash good, 5 spd, one owner family with the carfax to back it up since 1986. askin 4500, im thinkin 3800 maybe. looks good, charcoal ext- original paint

But its from one of the great lake states, and i wonder bout rust underneath? ive seen some nice pics of it but im concerned about hidden rust- im too far away to look at it in person. Anyone know of any particular areas i should ask for closeup pics of?

The usual spots would be the frame rails, floor boards, battery tray, etc. I'd definitely request pics of these areas.

Another question- ive seen some 83 models with digital gauges and some with analog- did they offer both in 83?

thanks for the welcome denner, ive seen some 83s that had analog and some digital, though ive never checked the VINs to be certain- ill assume the digital guages are more problematic though i think theyre cool

I had an 85 300ZX with digital dash and the main part of the gauges went out and the replacement new cost was $800 if memory serves either that or that is what I paid at the salvage yard. I decided I didn't want expensive items on a car after that. The gauges were rather novel though and I enjoyed that part of the car. I like computer graphical things.

Anyone have a link for KBB classic car values, i found it on nada but not kbb. Ive talked em down to 3500 for the 83 non turbo. Im buying it next week.
