Posted October 30, 201014 yr comment_334692 Rebuilt the steering rack in my son's 73 240.I replaced one bushing inside the rack tube, replaced pinion bearing, seals, ect.I assembled the rack and came to a question.Does the rack ball stud with the left hand threads go on the passenger side or the drivers side? The fsm states to put the one with the stamped 'L' on the left. The other one is not marked. The one on this car is marked with an 'R' and the other is not marked.I don't have the rest of the steering handy to check this on my own. Thanks for the help,Roger Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37524-steering-rack-ends/ Share on other sites

October 31, 201014 yr comment_334720 Oh dear! From the drivers seat be it LHD or RHD, the LHT goes to the LHS.At least my rack has that set up and the parts haven't been swapped to my knowledge.
