Hi? my 1976 280z gas tank is bad but i found a 1978 280z gas tank in good shape. is there any way i can make the 78 280z gas tank work and install onto my 76 280z. i noticed that the 78 has a small pipe (gas filling pipe. the pipe that the gas goes thru to the tank. ) the pipe for the 76 is bigger. If i can use this tank pls what do i need to do to make it work out and install it. thanks

There are some differences in the design of the spare tire well in the hatch floor. The spare tire well is shallower in the '78, and the '78 tank snugs right up against it. For this reason I don't think a '78 tank would fit an earlier year of Z.

There are few people down here in Oregon parting out lots of Zs on Craigslist. Two of them have been doing it for quite a while, and there's a new guy (new to me in my short Z life) down around Albany advertising a whole warehouse full of Z parts (including fuel tanks), and a guy in Colton (east of Woodburn) that says he's parting out 12 Z cars.

ROOOAAADDDD TTTRRRIIIIPPPP....or see if the guy will ship it, I've shipped larger items via Grey Hound and they're always pretty reasonable on price. Shipping would probably be like 50 bucks so in the end $75 for an already boiled out gas tank isn't too bad of a price.

yeah but he has refused to sell me the tank because am out of state. i dont kown anyone who lives in oklahoma that i can give money to buy me the part and ship it to me.
