Pomorza Posted October 31, 2010 Author Share #13 Posted October 31, 2010 I'm going to check the rack here in a few days when I'm disassembling the suspension. I think I have to take most of it off to get the new bushings on it. (I got carried away and bought every possible suspension bushing on the car).I'm just hoping I can get that rim fixed. It's not even a year since I put those on there. Jan
Z train Posted November 1, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 1, 2010 Jan-see if the steering couple tore. And there is a shop in town that should be able to straighten the rim.
We Bad Posted November 1, 2010 Share #15 Posted November 1, 2010 I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread - but since it came up, I just have to ask. . . when is the TC rod (tension Compression) ever in tension?Sorry to interupt, just curious. Carl Beck Posted November 1, 2010 Share #19 Posted November 1, 2010 The Left Tie Rod looks bent to me - I don't recall them having that much of a bend in them... Maybe it is just the angle from which the photo was taken...FWIW,Carl B.

Maybe it is just the angle from which the photo was taken...FWIW,Carl B.I will check again. That tie rod is rather loose to begin with as it is in need of replacement so that maybe what your seeing.Jan

conedodger Posted November 10, 2010 Share #22 Posted November 10, 2010 Also look under the hood. An impact from below can drive the strut up so the tower is bent inside the hood area.
Powderkeg Posted November 10, 2010 Share #23 Posted November 10, 2010 Jan, I would also suggest that you have your car checked out by a suspension shop. I have a pair of TC (tension Compression) rods if you are in need. PM me (PM=private message) if you are interested. Dave Ruiz
Pomorza Posted November 10, 2010 Author Share #24 Posted November 10, 2010 Sorry guys for not being up to date. I took the car into the shop the other day to get it looked at (and get the rim fixed). According to the mechanic, other than rearranging my alignment I didn't do much damage. The ball joint(s) are in really bad shape so I need to replace those before anything really goes on.The rim was about 80% fixed as apparently it is made out of a rather hard alloy that the machinist had a hard time bending back.
