is there an adjustment that can be made or a different switch to buy?

I'm new to this car so be easy on me ;)

They are the same thing. Now location of the threded hole on the bell housing for the switch is different depending on which 4 speed or 5 speed trans come from. :classic:

Are you having trouble?

Well, my reverse light come on in 4th gear. I read another post about this but it ended saying to adjust it or replace it. They didn't mention how the adjustment was made, figure it just screws straight in. Any help would b great.... Thanks

I wasn't real clear about my issues in the first place, so no dumb ?'s. ;) I've obtained a replacement switch but have yet to get the car up on jack stands to replace it. I was just making sure there wasnt some magic adjustment that I needed to make instead of just swapin old for new.

Thanks for the speedy response!.... I'll let u know what I find.

As Dave alluded to above, when I installed my 5 speed, I noticed a second hole, farther back than the one on the 4 speed. I just put the switch in the same hole location as that from the 4 speed (forward hole) and haven't had any problems. I'm not sure what the second hole is for.
