Posted November 16, 201014 yr comment_336104 Ok so im new.... go easy nowI'm looking to restore a 240z like the one here (http://superstreet.automotive.com/53342/130-0706-1971-datsun-240-z/photos2-0.html). This will be MY 1st project (but I've worked on friends and families cars) car and just like everybody else, i want to go all out. I want to put in a Rb(20,25,26) in it. So Ive looked every where on the web to find one and all i can find are 2 or 3 thousand dollar ones that are fully rebuilt and shined to look like a baby toy and don't get me wrong i like that. The only problem is i want to do all that my self so where do i find one that was just picked out of a car put in a crate. I found one on eBay for 600 bucks but i cant find it any more it must of been bought. That one had a bad head and a burnt piston. If i could find it again id buy it in a heartbeat cuz that's exactly what i want. Basically i want this car to be an example to show for a business in auto restoration that I'm looking to start so yes it will be top quality work. November 16, 201014 yr comment_336109 If you use Firefox, you can search multiple Craigslists by going to crazedlist.org. Search long enough, and you'll find some long-in-the-tooth beater on its last legs. November 16, 201014 yr comment_336182 You should be on Hybridz - www.hybridz.org Aw, be nice now. There is more information on engine swaps over there, but can you really say that if you had easy access to, oh say a RB26DETT you wouldn't be tempted to drop it in your car and give it a whirl? (I would.) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37690-rb-engine-for-sale-where-cheap/#findComment-336182 Share on other sites
November 16, 201014 yr comment_336192 Didn't mean to come across harsh. I was thinking nice. I should have put an emoticon in there I guess. bggilmore, there is a lot of information over there about what you're talking about doing. You could just RB alone in the title and you'll probably get 10 replies within an hour. I LIKE L-series mills. Simple, affordable and reliable. Plenty of power for street use.
