Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one.

In many languages the progression of numbers translates to "ten and one" "ten and two..." "twenty and one" ect. Which is believed to to be a major reason that asians are "good at math", its because they get ahead in the early stages of learning cause its an easier system to follow.

nonsence, the transison from single digits to the teens is combersom in any language 10+1 in english = eleven, in german it's elf (followed by towelf) crazy how hard it is to translate pheonetically

Why don't airports validate for parking?

Why do highway signs say, "Lodge Road Exit 1/4 Mile" or "Next Rest Stop 3/4 Miles"?

No instrument on a car measures distance in quarter mile increments.

Because government workers are in charge of the sign placement and text. Do as your told and never criticize big brother. :finger:

For that matter why would the government mandate an 85mph speedo in a car that can do over 100.

Why would they tell you you can't offer a car for sale in the U.S. that can reach speeds in excess of 175 mph, but you can sell the chip that eliminates the govonor feature.

Why would the government mandate a 55 mph speed limit in the middle if the desert south west? (or anywhere else for that matter)

Why isn't there a I.Q. test attached to the drivers licence test?

Why do I have to have a tax stamp on my car? (licence plate)

Why, why, why?
