March 14, 20159 yr comment_465545 I just installed the EP-34 last weekend. I bought them on Amazon-no hassling with a guy at the parts counter ;-) Pretty easy, just get some 1/4" female spades and some ring terminals, ground the "E" tab as previously mentioned and the stock connector has only one way it can plug into the relay. I wish I could have found a better way to mount the relay. I pretty much just had to zip-tie it somewhere. Of course, it's so light it doesn't really matter I guess. And I am glad it still makes the clicking sound! Anyway, thanks everybody for this thread :-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37915-sold-on-leds/?&page=6#findComment-465545 Share on other sites
May 14, 20159 yr comment_469755 It looks like the only thing that hasn't been solved or upgraded in the LED interior lighting is the dimmer for the gauge wights. This could be a job for Captain Obvious! Haha Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37915-sold-on-leds/?&page=6#findComment-469755 Share on other sites
May 14, 20159 yr comment_469765 I was talking to a local buddy who put LEDs in his dash gauges and he says the dimmer works fine for him. I looked at him like he was nuts, but he swears it's true. I'll verify with my own two beady eyes when I get a chance. I don't know what lights he used, but maybe some of them are dimmable? Failing that, I think one of the PWM dimmers we were talking about before in your ding-dong thread ought to work. Let me get some details from my local guy first. If he's got a dimmable option, that would certainly be the easiest. May 14, 20159 yr comment_469771 I can attest that since I recently replaced all my dash lighting with leds ... they are indeed dimmable. Suprised me as well Captain. I think fairly recently the led design has changed & many are now dimmable. June 11, 20159 yr comment_471755 Will the Tridon 34 flasher work for the hazard flashers too? Remember the S30 has two flasher units; one for the turn signals, and one for the hazard lamps. August 11, 20159 yr comment_475484 I just installed a 4-chip LED festoon bulb in the '97 and that darned thing just lights up the whole cabin! Granted, the clear plastic cover lets all that light get around the cabin, but it's better than the old filament bulb, although I may look for the same thing in warm white some time. August 21, 20159 yr Author comment_476239 I decided to try adjustable flasher relays. I bought these on Amazon. They arrived today, and I installed and adjusted them. The only drawback is that they are silent, so it might be easy to leave a blinker on. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011BTMDQM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37915-sold-on-leds/?&page=6#findComment-476239 Share on other sites
August 22, 20159 yr comment_476263 Will that work on a mixed set of lamps (LED and filament?) I didn't see the usual ground terminal. I'm satisfied with the flasher unit I have, so will your handle the hazard lamps? That's the only one still need. October 17, 20159 yr comment_479268 What about those Can-Bus LEDs? Can we use those for the Zed? I was considering using a dome lamp bulb that had some CREE LED chips on it, and it should light things up well. 9W LED Festoon Dome Light Car Bulb 3x Cree SMD 3021 3022 DE3175 White Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37915-sold-on-leds/?&page=6#findComment-479268 Share on other sites
January 10, 20169 yr comment_484343 Getting ready to do the LED thing. Steve, did you use all white or colors for different applications. Yellow-side & turn. Red-tail & clear-license & reverse. Using the same adjustable flasher that you have. Thanks for your help.
