Unquiet Slumber for the Sleepers

It snowed a little last night; which means my town put down a LOT of salt and sand. And with that, my Z is officially put away for the winter. But that doesn't mean the fun is over. On the contrary, the fun just begins because I enjoy working on the car as much as I enjoy driving it. On the list for this winter:

- Set the float heights as per the 1973 TSB for a '72 240Z; 12mm for the rear and 16mm for the front (they're both 14mm right now);

- Paint & install the RT Mount;

- Replace Inner Shift Boot;

- Investigate and repair non-functioning horn;

- Replace some firewall grommets;

- Fix right window movement (doesn't lower the last 2 inches);

- Send Clock out to ZClocks

- Find out where the window washer bottle is leaking and repair/replace

I may also remove the carbs and polish 'em up and properly close-off the unused ports on the balance tube.

Just kidding, Its nice to have a Z in the garage that needs your attention. It is great therapy for me and will help me make it through the long winter. I just hope I can give her the time she deserves. Good luck with all the projects!

Yep! Before next Spring I plan to install my rebuilt 5-speed. It just needs to get a bit warmer before I want to lay on my garage floor.

If you need a new washer bottle, let me know. One of today's project was putting in brighter light for the garage since the door can't be open without a cold draft.

Disclaimer: Before you get carried away adjusting float levels determine you, A) have the long and short standoffs on the 2 float bowl lids and If A is yes, do you have a long and a short needle and seat in the respective float bowls? There is only one length needle and seat available today so both should be set the same.

What winter. Just took my 240 for a spin in the countryside with the windows down. (Thank goodness I have fixed the fuming problem). 30 degrees here.

Hot as hell and humid with it.

Over Christmas I will be respraying the right front fender (bad job some years ago by a pro.= rust under the paint= bad prep)

Yes. Working on the Zed can be very rewarding.-satisfying
