Hello all

This past evening I was forced to drive through rain. No bummer I thought it hasn't rained in Tucson in months. Well come to find that both my front and rear glass have magically sprung a leak. Two questions.

1. Does anyone know where one may acquire the window seal for the front and rear windows?

2. How hard is/are they to do and can I somehow save the chrome trim?

2. No idea how hard, but you should be able to pull the SS trim. If not, Black Dragon has new trim too.

I recently had a new windshield installed by a local glass company. He was not impressed by my black dragon windshield weatherstripping and he seemed to think the one he could source would have been higher quality. I already had the seal and at that point there was not much I was going to do about it. The seal, in my opinion is adequate quality to do the job. My glass man thought that all the corners should be molded, but I wasn't sure if the factory weatherstrip had four molded corners or not so I didn't argue with the guy. Where I went wrong was skimping on the labor to have him install the trim. The windshield popped right in and with a little massaging it was positioned fairly easily, but installing the ss trim is a little challenging and if I could go back I would have paid to have it done. The glass company only charged me $265 for a new windshield and to install both the front glass and rear hatch. They originally quoted me $395 to install everything and I would have gladly traded the extra cost considering the amount of swearing I expelled during the ss trim installation. The trim is easy enough to remove without damage. Just run a razor knife along the edge and they pull out pretty easily. It's putting them back in that is difficult to do without damaging the seal or bending the trim.

You can trim the rubber and lift out the trim if you are going to replace the seals. The corners and center trim pieces probably have some clear adhesive holding them in place. Use a flat head to work them out slowly.

I had no problem with Black Dragon Wind Screen and Hatch seals. It was the door seals that suck from black dragon.

I also need weatherstrip--and have avoided the Black Dragon kit based on the advice of others. I know that Classic Datsun Motorsports is developing their own kit (still in production). The OEM pieces are available through Courtesy Nissan and a few other sources.
