I know the feeling Zedyone......The feeling that you wish you could slow things down enough to stop the inevitable. Last weekend I was making the last cut of my lawn on my "Double Mulching John Deere" riding lawn mower. Cutting faster and faster as I leaned into the apexes. Unfortunately I noticed my wallet (which had slid out of my pocket on the last lap) just in front of the beast.........tried to hit the brake on the hydro-static drive tranny....hit the gas instead......it was like a slow motion dream. The mulching feature worked to perfection......bits of health cards,drivers licenses,twenty dollar bills, boat registrations etc. etc. Have you every tried to first, find bits of bills in a lawn, and then try to tape them back together? Sorry about your chip!:stupid:

You didn't tell him about that time when we were swapping the L28 in the 70 and I dropped the phillips head from my teeth onto your fender. Oddly enough just a week or so later, my dad was moving that same John Deere and it backed into the driver rear door of my BMW and left a little nick. Payback's a bit$# eh?

I know the feeling. I had a bird cage sitting on a stand in the garage near the M. Didn't think it was close enough to cause any damage, nor did I expect and damage to happen....

Just then my 5 year old come running out of the house and BAM! Hits the bird cage, causing it to fly off the stand and proceed to slide down the side of my car. I watched the horror all in slow motion. I was yelling, "noooooooo" and trying to catch it but it ended up hitting the car, putting a 3" + scratch down the side of my door. I felt like s#!t for a week. I still need to try and buff it out....\

P.S. Once the warranty ran out on my M I cry when ever I need to purchase anything for the BMW. Parts alone for an oil change is $120. This is just for the Oil and filter needed. I always pre-lube up when I need to go the dealer, because I know what's coming next....

Ugh, what an unfortunate mistake!! My son hit his bike pedal on the bottom of my door area. Feelin' your pain..........but.............dag I am having trouble getting up off the floor from laughing so hard at the cat picture. IT SAYS IT ALL!!!!

So my hood latch wasn't working quite right so I took off the hook section from the hood and pushed it into the receiver on the firewall. As I pulled the handle of the hood cable release it dawned on me that this might not be a good idea.

The latch shoots up, in slow motion, and tumbles over and over as I try to get around the open door and lay myself out (an end zone catch) to no avail. A dent/chip in my cowl. What a maroon.....

Must be a hood damage virus going around.

Called my buddy and he told me he "dinged" his freshly painted hood installing the rebuilt engine in his 70 Capri. The hood has to go back to the body & paint shop. Bummer!

Ever get the feeling that the harder we try to keep our cars perfect, the most crap happens to them. Perhaps there is a life lesson here somewhere. We should not worry about minor imperfections and just enjoy the car as a whole... a ding here and a ding there can always be fixed at one time or another...

Zedyone, I had a '66 Mustang with perfect paint. I can assure you it wasn't a fun car to own for that very reason. A ding in the hood or a tiny rust spot at the bottom of a door makes the car a whole lot more fun to own. It is a gift and a blessing, and we should regard such minor imperfections as beauty marks!
