Captain Obvious Posted August 4, 2011 Share #13 Posted August 4, 2011 Well I've finally gotten to installing the felt channel for my driver's side window, so I have the whole door apart. I just wanted to let you all know that the old felt that ends up in the bottom of the door crevice is the PERFECT medium for retaining moisture. So where did you get the new felt? My felt did the same thing yours did.Was the replacement generic, or specifically made to fit the Z's?BTW - At this point, I've got more than enough "drain" holes in the bottom of my doors. I don't think they can hold water...Anymore. :disappoin
TomoHawk Posted August 4, 2011 Share #14 Posted August 4, 2011 Mr. humble tells you to just get in there and drill out the drain holes a bit bigger, if at least to get the paint out from blocking the holes. Water doesn't cause rust; It's the dirt and other stuff that starts the chemical action, so if you can just get the water to drain, you should be alright.
