January 12, 201114 yr comment_341705 I also just received a set of those puppies from Jim for my 240z, and I am very happy with the set I received! Kudos to you, Jim, it looks like you've helped a lot of people with their cars! I haven't put the rubber on yet because I am in the process of replacing a head gasket and putting on an E-31 head. While I have most of the stuff out, I am painting the engine bay. I got a tip from the guy who I bought the head from (http://datsunpartsllc.com/) to get some Spatter paint (think of some auto trunks you may have seen) from AutoZone. First clean off the grease/grime and sand or scuff with a wire brush, then apply a primer. Follow that with the Spatter paint. I've got it half way painted, and I am delighted to say that it looks much better than I thought it would. It looks very nice! Now another question (to Jim or anyone else) - Does anyone know where I can find a decent rear water tube? Jim said he had a couple, but they are both spoken for. I really would like to find one soon because I am going to be putting things back together soon. Thanks! After cleaning the old water tube and examining it closer, it doesn't look that bad except for the ends where the hoses were attached. It is rusted on the ends, but I think if I put the hoses on a little farther, it may be OK. Please tell me more about your chrome parts! You can PM me if you like. January 27, 201114 yr comment_343512 Let's have a look then;)ChrisThey are not installed yet. I have to figure out what size the brake and fuel lines are so I can order the hard lines and ends. Then copy the old ones to bend them up and install everything. January 27, 201114 yr Author comment_343523 OK they are not perfect replicas, they look to be cut out of rubber, and the originals looked to be molded with a rounded-up edge. Other than that they are well replicated the holes and general shape match they even have the correct slits. Mounted on the car you would need to intentionaly look to see if they were correct it isn't going to jump out at you. The thing I liked is the selection of rubber actually looks to be stronger and of better quality, the accuracy is better than most all replicated parts and even some OEM parts, it shows attention to detail. I'm very happy with my purchase, these are not something I expected someone to replicate, this was a lot of work for a part that holds up well. Heck mine nearly lasted 40 years, if the rubber was cared for better they might have last a lot longer, the ones with under coating did. January 27, 201114 yr comment_343527 Oops sorry, I misunderstood here is a picture of both sets. Quality looks excellent and there will be no way to distinguish from factory parts when installed.
