mikemerkury Posted December 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2010 I am not related in any ways to this seller but thought this ad could be of interest :http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/2126065154.html
tlorber Posted December 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2010 Pretty cool cloud formation in the background. At an average price of more than $1,000 for what look to be shells, he may need to wait until the economy improves.
lonetreesteve Posted December 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted December 24, 2010 "24 Datsun 240Zs, in various conditions with extra parts, 1970-1973. $25,000. I will not sell some. This is a package deal. All or nothing. Call anytime at (661) 233-6276." "All or nothing"......I guess the seller doesn't want to waste a lot of time trying to sell each car individually. I agree with tlorber, $1k per car seems a little high, especially when you consider transportation. However, if the majority of the cars spent their entire lives in Southern California, they more than likely are pretty solid and don't have a much rust -it's really hard to tell from the picture. I'm sure if someone offered $18 to $20k for all 24, the seller would accept it.
cygnusx1 Posted December 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 24, 2010 Looks like a bad deal to me unless there are some low VIN shells in there. Nice photo of clouds, but poor photos of the merchandise. Shady marketing...pun intended.
ajmcforester Posted December 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted December 24, 2010 If I still lived in Flagstaff, I might take a look 25 isn't a bad starting price for only 240Zs if their was 260 and 280Z mixed in that might be another story. Besides I could take them to my cousin's place in Kingman he has a salvage yard with no Z cars, he will let me know when he gets one. He has 3 Hudson Hornets, I thought of restomoding one a wile back, but my second cousin in Michigan might kill me since he restores Hudson for a hobby. SteveJ Posted December 24, 2010 Share #6 Posted December 24, 2010 There is also an ad over at Zcar.com. Considering how many of these cars are missing rear windows or the entire hatch, I'm thinking there is a good bit of rust waiting to be discovered. sblake01 Posted December 24, 2010 Share #7 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) He's up in the Antelope Valley/ Palmdale Ca. area. I went up there few years ago looking for parts for my 810. It's basically just a junkyard with many other cars and parts for sale besides the Datsuns. From what I recall, if it hasn't changed, there might be a handful of cars there worth $1000 ea. but not 24 of them...............
