lagg on take off and high rpm

Does it burn if you strike a match to it? (Careful not to burn your fingers! You might hold the match with a pair of pliers.)

Apparently fuel fouling can occur from running the wrong temp of plugs. What plugs are you running?

Either that, or you're running REALLY RICH!

T-stone, just went back over your post and you mention that you are waiting for a resister for your coil. If you have been running a coil that is ment to have a resister, without one, the chances are, that the coil is fried.

0.018 - 0.022 in. You can just pull the coil wire, put the car in first, then push or pull car ( doesn't take much ) until the heal of the cam follower is on the highest point of the dist. cam, set the gap with a feeler gauge and thats as good as it gets. Still think you might have a mixture prob. but it will all come together with some tuning.

i changed the point out, the one on it was fried.

after changing it out and setting the gap it did great.

i found that if you leave the ignition on when the car is not running and the point has a gap it will continuously fire and burn the point.

Thanks for all the help

Cool! I hope that does it. You might drive your car a couple hundred miles on fresh plugs and then read them. I suspect you might still have a mixture problem.

BTW, points are a pain! You might consider upgrading your ignition sometime to electronic.
