Good News! - VTO has added more wheel sizes (15x7's in particular). They are being unloaded at VTO's warehouse and will be available for shipping beginning of next week. (A complete list of new arrivals is below.)

The new VTO Wheel sizes will be added to the current listings on line at http://www.FutoFab.com.

FutoFab On-Line ordering of ALL available sizes will be ready by the time the new wheels hit the shelves at VTO's warehouse.

To all that have been patiently waiting, thank you.

What better way to start the New Year than a set of VTO Retro 4 or Classic 8 wheels from FutoFab?

Thank You,

Dave Patten

Goose52,

The sizes for future VTO wheels aren't stopping at 15x7". By Late Summer 2011, Classic 8's will be coming in 15x8 (-4 offset, 4.3" B/S), 16x7 (+12 offset, 4.5" B/S) & 16x8 (+ 3 offset, 4.6" B/S). Unfortunately, current plans for the Retro 4 sizes are being limited to 15x7 as the biggest.

And Bruce, thank you for the kind words. Yes I am an enthusiast, owning and competing in Datsuns since 1984. I currently have a Datsun 1200 that I race with SCCA in GTL and a '71 510 that will be going thru a complete restoration this winter to Vintage race as a TransAm 2.5 Challenge car in 2011.

I thank you for the welcome and please keep an eye on our website for more Z Car products beyond our BRE style Spook air dam and rod end equipped alternator adjusters we currently offer.

but a big problem is that we're running out of high-performance 15" tires.

Huh? Just on Tire Rack alone there are 18 high performance tires available in 205 to 225 15" sizes. If you go beyond tire rack there are over 25 different 15" performance tires available in the 15" size I mention.

Dave - that's great. I think you will be getting a lot of the Z business - especially for the Retro 4. I'd be interested in the Retro 4's myself if I didn't already have the ATS wheels in the photo below my signature.

John - perhaps I should have said high performance summer - not all-season and summer. I run a 205/60-15 - the photo below shows the Tire rack search results for a summer tire in that size. 4 tires - of those, I run the Yok AVS ES100.

It's just a plain fact that the higher-end performance tires are no longer being made in 15" wheel sizes. If Yokohama quits making the ES100, I will just have to move over to the all-season tires. For street driving, perhaps I won't really notice any performance loss....

BS!

Toyo alone makes the R1R in 195/55-15, 205-50-15, and 225-45-15 which it THE tire to have in the Solo2 Street Tire 140 tread wear category if your car is under 2,500 lbs. They also make the T1R in 195/50-15, 195/55-15, 205/45-15, 205/50-15, and 205/55-15 and that's the tire the WC Touring cars ran for a number of years. Its a very fast street tire.

If you want to stay in the Solo2 ST tire performance level there's the Hankook Ventus RS3 in 225/45-15, the Dunlop Star Spec in 195/50-15, 195/55-15, and 305/50-15, and the Kumho XS in 205/50-15.

There are even more tires available in the Ultra and High performance street tire category. On my 1971 240Z I ran the Micheline Exalto PE2s and used the car as an instructor car with Speedventures. The tires performed very well on the race track and were quiet and comfortable on the street.

There are PLENTY of good tires to fit the 15x7 rim. We run 225/50x15 on 15x7's on our 240z. Not a problem. Tire rack does not have every possible tire either.

I've had my name on Dave's list for months now. I will be the first kid on my block to have a set of Retro-4's size 15x7.

I do have a question though: What is the weight of a Retro-4 15x7 zero offset?
