Aluminum Radiators from Ebay

I've searched the Forum, and have not been able to find any information about 240Z aluminum radiators as sold on Ebay. Champion seems to be one of the manufacturers; there are a lot of sellers marketing their radiators. Koyo is another. Here are some examples:

Does anyone have any experience with any of these manufacturers or sellers?

I put one into my 240Z. I won a new 2-row version for $90. What a steal! It fit great, looked great, cooled the car fine, but after a few weeks, I noticed a micron sized leak in an upper tank weld. I took a round file to the weld, notched it, and filled it with JB weld. Problem solved so far for almost a year. I can't complain for the price I paid.

I also replaced the radiator cap with a Stant. The one that came with the tank looked so cheap and had sharp edges.

I got a 2-core Champion as well. It looks great and cools well. The only problem I had was bent mounting tabs when I received it, but I bent them back and was good to go. Remember to soft mount these Aluminum rads or they will crack sooner or later.

Aluminum has a great bling factor. It isn't as good or as strong as a brass unit though IMHO. Besides quality control from new, there is also the galvanic issues. I went through two aluminum radiators in my custom 71 Land Rover before I realized it was being eaten as a giant anode. These must be fully isolated from the steel rad support using plastic/rubber bushings/tubes to prevent the galvanic reaction.

If you need a good stock radiator I have one out of my 71 240Z. I replace it with a three core for a future L2.8 project. I also have some later 280Z radiators too. PM if interested.

This is actually for the street car, but I'm also trying to decide if I should replace my Griffin radiator in the race car. I just got it back from Earl Owens Chassis before New Years. The cage is done, as well as some other items (front strut brace, fuel cell frame & cover, front sway bar mount). Next is body work and paint.

That could be argued. The advantage of aluminum is larger tubes (less blockage potential) and light weight. Fragility and corrosion-prone works against it. I know all manufacturers are using aluminum/plastic radiators but primarily to reduce weight. Given 35 years of building cars and trucks and using both in a variety of applications I'd say a good ol' stock brass radiator serves its purpose well in most situations. If you're in the market for a new radiator because your old one is shot then go get the aluminum if it makes you happy. BTW, I've got a stock Camaro aluminum radiator in my LS1 powered '71 Land Rover trialer so I'm not against aluminum rads.
