Posted January 20, 201114 yr comment_342778 Hello: Can any one help me identifyWhat is attached to the fuel pump outlet of Beck Arnley 152-0765, Nissan# 17010 fuel pump used in 1980 -'84 Nissan 810, Maxima ????Check Valve ?? Pressure Regulator??Seems same pump, without this attachment, is used in early 280Z with D-jet.I'm trying to find alternative pump for my D-jet Mercedes. The FI fuel Pumps used by early Datsun/Nissan has similar specs. Made by JECS, Japan...I think under BoschPlease see this attachment at:http://www.nissanpartszone.com/compo...p-170-452.htmlAppreciate your help.Regards, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38316-fuel-pump-attachmentwhat-is-it/ Share on other sites
January 20, 201114 yr comment_342781 link doesn't work for me, but anything attached to the electric pump would most likely be a check valve. Used to keep pressure in the fuel line. January 20, 201114 yr Author comment_342786 link doesn't work for me, but anything attached to the electric pump would most likely be a check valve. Used to keep pressure in the fuel line.Hi Darrel, Thanks for your response. I'm of the same thought as you, but would really like to be 100% sure. If it is a check valve I would be able to suck freely from the outlet attachment, but when I suck it holds vacuum. If it was a check valve you could not blow into the pump, but be able to suck freely, right? FI check valves are made to keep the fuel lines pressurized, correct? So I'm not sure if it is a check valve.Sorry if the link did not work for you. Can you copy and Paste the link into your browser so you can see the attachment on the pump outlet.I need to know before I install this pump or send the pump back. Thanks again for your help. January 20, 201114 yr comment_342789 There isn't anything but the check valve attached to the fuel pump. Stock nissan check valve is $, but a generic bosche check valve is much less. The fuel damper is mounted away from the pump(22675). It dampens the pulses from the fuel pump. And there is my confusion also. The pumps are the same in both 208Z and 810, with the exception of the attached item which seems to be a more complicated Check Valve???? Did JECS , Datsun, Nissan have a better idea than Bosch for check valves ??? January 20, 201114 yr comment_342802 I had a 78 280Z and a 79 810. They both had the 'simpler' check valve and neither one ever gave me any problems. 12 years and 6 years of use respectively. I have seen a few threads on this site about bad check valves. I've never seen the one that you initially linked to. I still have an original check valve (17014-N4225) that you can have for postage if you need it. It works fine and I doubt if I'll ever have a need for it. Let me know.
