4 speed vs 5 speed info?

If you're bothered by the 3rd gear whine, don't let it bother you anymore in the sense of impending failure. Mine developed that whine 35 years back and until I plugged in the 5 speed two years ago, it was still whining but making "car go fast." Can't say the whine is endemic to the transmission, but can say that you're not alone....
