FWIW I ordered some parts from MSA today and asked if they were going to have the "big"show this year. My order guy said they are doing the planning and expect to have the "big" show. I realize things can change, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I really want to bring my car to the show this year. I was all set to do it last year, but the "big" show was unable to be held. He said to keep watching the MSA wesite for updates.

ya, I told everyone that there was no way I was gonna do a 2400 mile round trip for a BBQ in another state. I need BBQ, the show, the dinner and events and especially the comradery of friends and customers, nationwide.

We'll have to see what the budget brings as things have slowed WAY down around here. I think the 260Z project is gonna wipe me out financially but we'll see. I really wanna make it to Canby this year with the 260Z but that too will be a mystery until then.

I am really hoping they have the “big” show. This is the one event that really brings the So Cal Z community together. The 2009 event was the best Z show that I have ever been to. As president of the ZCCIV, I offered Joseph at MSA our clubs’ support for a West Coast Nationals event. (Typically a number of our members volunteer to help out with the annual JCCS event). Our club would be more than happy to help out with volunteers to help make MSA’s work a little easier. And, I am sure the other local clubs would help as well.

So, hopefully all the cards fall into place. We will be watching this one closely.:bunny:

I was ready to go last year, but then they didn't do the whole 9 yards. So I passed. This year - if they hold it in late April as is normal, I probably have a conflict again, just as I did in 2009, 2008, 2007... banghead.gif

The one thing to remember with all this is that an event of this size is a major undertaking and probably not a big money maker for them. In fact, I am sure there are upfront costs that require them to foot the bill until proceeds from the show come in. That being said, I think the best we can do as a group is voice our interest and volunteer our support for such an event to help minimize their work and cost. Hopefully this is all that would be needed to make the event successful.

Unfortunately what motorman7 says sounds like the case. I do, however, believe they should continue to give back to the Z community who has supported them all these years. Not only do they keep people interested in their products, but also the non-Z guests that are brought along may develop interest in our wonderful cars. 2009-10 was a tough time, but hopefully things will shape up!

I think donating time and resources would be a great idea.

Maybe I or someone should talk to Greg and see what the rundown really is.

I guess we should ask ourselves a few questions......

1) If they asked for Volunteers, would you step up and donate your time?

2) If they were to charge a $15 Fee per person, to help cover costs of rentals, fees and whatever, would you have a problem paying that, if you knew this would help keep the show alive for future years to come.???

It's obviously free to onlookers and general public, and I have no porblem paying for any other car shows that I attend here in the North West. $15 would hardly be a scratch in the bucket for me considering the cost of Hotel, Gas, food, nick nacks and what ever else it takes to get from Marysville, WA. to Anaheim, CA. (2400 mile round trip)

And if you consider $15 X an aprox 500 participants = $7500, That should easily cover some of their costs. If they know that people are willing to pay to attend, They're more likely to get the ball rolling and try harder to make it a success and a Definate event.

Hard to do from 900 miles away.

If I were able to go, I'd gladly pay more than $15 for a good event.
