Guys and Gals, I looking for some help on why my 76 260 revs up when the break pedal is applied and the break pedal is real hard.....

Have you measured the engine vacuum when idling and when the brakes are applied?

Most likely cause is your brake booster diaphragm is leaking.

Your brake booster is dead, time for a new one.
