Very Nice '67 Datsun 2000 Roadster

If you think the Z bug bites and doesn't let go... the Roadster fever is even worse.

Where the Z is a fun car, and I do drive it many places, the Roadster offers the top off fun of a sporty convertible AND nimble response and acceleration. I own all three, a 71-240Z, and two Roadsters, a 67-1600 and a 68-2000.

Until you've driven a Roadster or been a passenger in one, you can't really compare it to a Z, and a Z is a blast to drive.

That 67.5 2000 is very clean and sharp with many of the highly desireable rare items, in addition to being a low production model year AND a fairly low VIN. You really couldn't ask for more, but there are those who will still "nit" pick it.

It appears to be a great car, for what it is. But they don't really do much for me personally. If that type of car still appealed to me, I'd have kept the '67 MGB that I restored in the late '90s. Sure, a 2 liter Datsun is faster than the B, but that's not the issue. I'm not so in love with the roadster/convertible experience that I can overlook the rest of the deal. I'd far rather have my Z, thank you very much.

But as Roadsters go, that one seems to have it all.

I love the little roadsters class the Datsun isn't my favorite, but it rates high on my roadster list. I liked the early versions better. Topping that list would be the Honda S600 or S800 then the TR-6, Mazda Cosmo (I know not a roadster but it wants to be honestly), Sprite, then Datsun, I won't list what modern car ties it.
