I can see these snapping I just replated mine, none were broken in the proses. I used penetrating oil 2-3 times over a month's time be fore loosening them. These replicated bolts from the same manufacture? They look very acurate just missing the yellow-chromate coating.

Black Dragon sells bolts just like that. I purchased some a few months ago from them. But, they are silver in color, not the yellow/gold zinc chromate color.

We had these made in Japan.

I have no idea what they have at Black Dragon.

Can you post picture of that bolt?

;)

Hi Eprist, here are a few photos of the brake/clutch line bolts that I purchased from Black Dragon. Part Number 79-618. I paid 95 cents apeice when I purchased them in July of last year.

Thank you!

I just removed a bolt from my 72 with original 28K miles car and comprare them.

Only difference would be Yellow cad plating. Mine has a "dot" on the top.

Your from Black Dragon does not.

We should cad plate ours:)

Thanks for the part number Ken. I've been searching for sources for these bolts. (Of course, if I was intrepid enough, I would dig through the archives here and at Zcar.com where people have discussed fasteners.)

All you really need to make a good replication of the finish is to get them to dip in yellow chromate after the zinc planing. Well it isn't that easy it takes a little while for the yellow chromate to harden on. Also Yellow chromate is considered harmful to the environment so regulations will also take effect.
