Posted February 1, 201114 yr comment_344164 Hi everyone,I'm replacing the hoses on my 240z and there's one hose I can't find at the parts store because they don't carry it and I don't know that name of it. It's the hose that goes from the engine block to the intake manifold. One end of the hose is 1inch the other end I think is 5/8? Any ideas? February 1, 201114 yr comment_344167 I don't think you can get that hose at a parts house, you'll ether need to get it from Nissan or from a Z specialty supplier. Nissan part number is 14054-E3001 MSA also has it - http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/16-7635 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38435-hose-name/#findComment-344167 Share on other sites
February 1, 201114 yr comment_344168 I think that's the PCV hose. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38435-hose-name/#findComment-344168 Share on other sites
February 1, 201114 yr comment_344171 I think that's the PCV hose. No, it's a special reducer hose that only 240Zs have. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38435-hose-name/#findComment-344171 Share on other sites
February 1, 201114 yr comment_344174 I think what FastWoman meant was that Perfect240Z meant the PCV hoses, rather than that reducer hose? Perfect240Z mentioned the hose went from the engine block to the intake manifold, so if I am correct it may be this one? http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/15-6210 I think the reducer was one of the water hoses that goes around the engine and into the intake manifold. That's the part. So it's called a PVC hose? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38435-hose-name/#findComment-344181 Share on other sites
February 1, 201114 yr comment_344183 Cool! A match!Yeah, the PCV hose connects between the crankcase and the PVC valve, which is screwed into your intake manifold. The PCV (positive crankcase ventillation) system is what returns exhaust blow-by to the intake to be burnt off, and it's also what airs out the smoke in your crankcase and keeps your engine cleaner. Check your PCV valve, while you're at it, to make certain it's good. It's very cheap to replace. February 1, 201114 yr comment_344186 That's the part. So it's called a PVC hose?Yup, that's the name of that one. I don't think you'll be able to get that at a normal parts house either. As with the one I was first thinking of, I'm pretty certain it'll only be available from a Nissan dealer, or a Z specialist. February 2, 201114 yr comment_344241 I couldn't find one for my '73, so I used some black cloth tape to make it look similar to my smog hoses. Not perfect, but it looks clean.
