New tires=empty wallet

The old Z sure does not need high performance tires, with 400k miles on the odometer, it's a sunny Sunday afternoon cruiser. I had to get two tires for the rear, could not match the front Nankang's. This company has gone out of buisness and they were almost new so i did not need 4, i settled with a pair of Prime Well PS850's. They ride and stop well, at $50 a piece i am happy.

That sumitomo is a nice offering in that size. Any summer tire is just about guaranteed better than an all season. Wish I would have seen those.

Yeah, I searched pretty hard for a decent 14" performance tire. I read in another (of the many!) tire thread here that a few people were happy with the performance of these. They corner well but the sacrifice is that they are very soft. With the way I like to corner I am sure I will be rotating them often. They are non-directional too.

I ruled out "all season" as soon as I figured out I could still purchase performance in 14".

You might want to see if they are discontinuing these from the manufacturer. Might be worth while to snag a set before these too are NLA.

That's not too bad. I dropped $750 on my 4 tires. Yes, they are huge and much bigger than yours but I couldn't help myself.

I used to work at a tire shop and that was the size I used for my 86' Corolla those arnt hard to find really. maybe BS from the Shop?

Also you could also go the stretched tire route if youd like.

That's really not a good look on an S30. Maybe on an 86 Corolla but not a Z. Edited February 27, 2011 by sblake01
