Posted February 6, 201114 yr comment_344836 I'm looking for the differences between fuel tanks for 240z thru 280Z. My tank has a small drain plug that is located on the passenger side of the tank, approx under the fuel sending unit. The FSM shows the 78 tank with the drain plug centered on the tank. What's the difference and will have any problems with fuel delivery. Or am I being anal about this??The car is a 78 280z. February 6, 201114 yr comment_344874 All of the 77/78 tanks i have the drain plug is small and on the Pass side as you describe The Large plug in the center is the early tank (Early75 and before). The picture in the FSM may be of a JDM tank or just being used as an example and may not be the actual 77-78 tank . February 26, 201114 yr comment_347406 The 75-76 should fit, though you might have to get the filler neck from a 280Z as well. I'm not sure. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38488-difference-in-fuel-tanks/#findComment-347406 Share on other sites
