February 26, 201114 yr comment_347383 Ok, the blending of the rear end to be one smooth finish is all Italian like Michelangelo. That’s how I did mine. The clean lines are divine.Got pics? Oop's, didn't see the pic's first time around, nice car, my bad. February 26, 201114 yr comment_347384 I personally like both front and rear bumpers, and as previously stated Florida mandates bumpers on cars. A beach cop stopped me to ask about mine as a matter of fact.(See pic to the left. I do however like the 1/4 look of the front bumper somewhat like the Ferrari 250 GTO. I think they may have been called "NERF BARS"? Correct me if I'm wrong. Z'sOnDaBrain has a nice looking front bar on his rig. February 26, 201114 yr comment_347389 Either way, on a Z, I prefer bumpers. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38629-rear-bumper-ideas/?&page=2#findComment-347389 Share on other sites
February 26, 201114 yr comment_347415 I REALLY like the bumperless look on the white Z in Venus' pictures.Am putting the little push bars like the cobra's on the front of my 444 (avitar). The volvo bumpers are the only ones I have ever found to be lighter duty than the Z's. (and more money) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38629-rear-bumper-ideas/?&page=2#findComment-347415 Share on other sites

February 27, 201114 yr comment_347532 Venus, who did the body work on your car, and how long ago?I designed all bodywork myself after a combo of Ferrari 250GTO or 275GTB. I found the fiberglass spoiler with the intent to have it bonded smoothly on as duck tail and having the bumper indentations filled. Found the Ferrari vents online as well as fiberglass front bumper. David Kuhn Restorations made it happen a little over 10 years ago. He also painted the car. You can reach Dave at Kuhnrestor@aol.com. Dave mainly works on exotics: Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc, but does some classic American muscle, European sports cars, and custom concept/creative stuff. You may tell him I sent you. February 27, 201114 yr comment_347538 Venus, beautiful car. I didn't even notice the vents until reading the last post. For my own curiousity, what about the motor and performace upgrades. My next Z project, finishing my 77 turbo car, just took a huge cosmetic left turn:cool: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38629-rear-bumper-ideas/?&page=2#findComment-347538 Share on other sites
February 27, 201114 yr Author comment_347540 After seeing a shaved rear in person at Eagle Rock at a datsun meet.Ive decided to go that way....I realize that if i get hit their isnt much safety, but after all im throwing a LS1 block into the car, Safety is just an illusion at that point. February 27, 201114 yr comment_347551 This begs the question of whether it's better to have a prettier rear end, like Venus', or a sturdier rear end, like mine.
