Posted February 21, 201114 yr comment_346848 I have been cleaning up the front suspension on my car and I am missing the dust cover for the tie rod ends. Is there some place I can get just the rubber covers? If there is a difference I have a 76 -280Z.thanksMichael Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38657-needed-dust-cover-for-outer-tir-rod-ends/ Share on other sites

February 21, 201114 yr comment_346867 Nissan may still have them available. Part number 48522-21000 is superseded by 48522-W1401. Still shows like a good number from various online dealers. Good point Arne! I am so used to parts being in short supply, I have a tendency to take the path of least resistance. February 22, 201114 yr comment_346881 I don't mind resistance, so I always check with Nissan first. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38657-needed-dust-cover-for-outer-tir-rod-ends/#findComment-346881 Share on other sites
February 22, 201114 yr comment_346884 Just an FYI. I once installed new dust boots and then squirted in some unknown type of grease. One season later, the mystery grease had pretty much melted the OEM rubber. Now I use silicone Mobile 1 grease, with no issues.
