I have been cleaning up the front suspension on my car and I am missing the dust cover for the tie rod ends. Is there some place I can get just the rubber covers? If there is a difference I have a 76 -280Z.

You can get these on eBay or Rockauto OR order them through your local auto parts store.

The Prothane part # is U-60512R (for Red) and U-60512B (for Black)

The Energy suspension # is 9.13103

Nissan may still have them available. Part number 48522-21000 is superseded by 48522-W1401. Still shows like a good number from various online dealers.

Good point Arne! I am so used to parts being in short supply, I have a tendency to take the path of least resistance.

I don't mind resistance, so I always check with Nissan first.

Just an FYI. I once installed new dust boots and then squirted in some unknown type of grease. One season later, the mystery grease had pretty much melted the OEM rubber. Now I use silicone Mobile 1 grease, with no issues.
