Posted February 24, 201114 yr comment_347111 Hey allI know I've asked this before I just can't seem to find it again. This afternoon while driving down I-10 up to Phoenix a large projectile of sorts (a rock probably) hit my window about six inches on on the driver's side. Made a hell of a crack that spider-webbed a few inches. Due to the fact that I already have two other cracks and the weather stripping is, well, no longer there to be honest, I've decided to replace the window. Two issues of sorts. My insurance covers windshield replacement (its free) should I go through them to have this done? Secondly, has anyone had any luck finding the windshield locally? I haven't tired calling around yet as it happened earlier today and I had to replace the fuel pump (that's another story). Thanks allJan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38680-windshield/ Share on other sites
February 24, 201114 yr comment_347112 When I replaced my windshield, the local glass installer I contacted was more than happy to find one. I seem to recall he had mine shipped in from Spokane, or some such. No extra charge for shipping, as long as I could wait a few days. Probably could have found one closer/sooner except that I insisted on getting one w/o the tint band at the top. That was harder to find. February 24, 201114 yr comment_347123 Local glass shop had one over night. Local body shop beat their price and had it over night. Mine was tinted at the top, was $125.00 not installed. That was in September. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38680-windshield/#findComment-347123 Share on other sites
February 24, 201114 yr comment_347173 You shouldn't have any problems although it may have to come from Phoenix. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38680-windshield/#findComment-347173 Share on other sites
