Posted February 28, 201114 yr comment_347739 I know that there has been disucssion on this topic in the past for those who add an electronic fuel pump to their early Z. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the item being sold in this eBay auction?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310298569974&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38735-electric-fuel-pump-shutoff/ Share on other sites
February 28, 201114 yr comment_347746 No experience with that one and this wasn't on a Z but when I put the 40 DCOE Weber on my 320 pickup, I used a switch that fed off the oil pressure for the electric fuel pump on it. Not this one but it was very similar:http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Low-Pressure-Shut-Off-Switch,4774.htmlOh, and after looking at that one I recall that I did use a momentary switch for starting..... February 28, 201114 yr comment_347747 texasz, I installed an inertia switch on my 240Z a few months back. I really like this one: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=87. They use them on a lot of Porsche Race Cars. The inertia switch will shut off the power to the fuel pump if the car receives an impact in the areas of 10-12g's or higher. Great product, and very safe Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38735-electric-fuel-pump-shutoff/#findComment-347747 Share on other sites
February 28, 201114 yr comment_347759 You can get an inertia switch out of any late model car in the salvage yard. $5 should get one. Most are found in the trunk area . Just remove it and cut a few inches of wire on the harness side of the plug. I use this and the oil pressure switch in my projects with electric fuel pumps.
