i have found some good pics to help the fiance decide what she wants for our 77 280z, but options with a spec sheet is seeming to be hard to find.

can ya post a side view picture of your Z with different size wheels and different ride heights as well?

personaly i'm thinking of a 16x8 and lowered about an inch, but i gotta keep telling myself its her car, not mine!!!

About 1" yes. Maybe a little more due to use and time. they sit lower as time goes by. Very typical of Eibach Progressive rate lowering springs, but I love them.

280Z's are heavier but I think Eibach did a stronger, taller spring for the 280Z's

You won't find very many 17" owners on this site. but I can tell you that 17x9.5 Rota's with 275/40ZR17 Hankooks won't fit on a lowered 70' 240Z.

And there are 17x8's (-13 offset??) on the front with 245/45ZR17's (-19 offset ??) Just a test fit to see how they looked. Couldn't steer and would had rubbed in the rear had I tried to drive it.

Since it's a girls car, you may want to consider steering effort. The wider tire you put on there without power steering, you will notice it will be harder to steer. My wife couldn't park our Z with 215 tires on it, now that I put 195/70 back on she has no problem.

16x7, +12mm offset, 225/50-16 with 1" drop (no rubbing)

16x8, 0-offset, 225/50-16 with 1" drop (rear tires rubbed fender occasionally)

Steering effort when parking is difficult with both.

I'm not into lowered suspensions, fat tires, and hard steering (from fat tires). So it might seem like high water pants to some of you guys, but here's my combination that fits and works well. I'm running Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grids, 195/60R15 on 15x7 Panosport rims:

The previous owner was running T/A radials, 215/60R15 on the same rims, and those rubbed on the front wheel arches when turning the wheel moderately.

wow. good to know guys. i didn't expect a 225 to be THAT much more of a challenge to turn at slow speeds. and your exactly right on the idea of using a smaller tire since it will be her car. tho i do like the look of wider tires, anyone have insight on a middle of the road, maybe a 205?

i love the look of this Z. about the perfect stance as far as i'm concerned. but why the change in backspacing/offset between this car and the other you posted?
