Posted March 17, 201114 yr comment_349665 Ok my z is tore done and I have been working on all the rust and just noticed I am missing something. Under my passenger fender I am missing the part that separates the fender from the door jamb. Not just the small rubber mudflap looking piece but the metal piece with seal that said piece hangs from. Did a quick check on blackdragon and store and don't see the part for sale. Anyone know the name of the part? Need to source one but hate asking for parts that I don't know the name of...thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38925-name-of-piece-in-fender/ Share on other sites
March 17, 201114 yr comment_349667 Since you mention the mud flap, it sounds like you are missing a splash shield. This is the part the small front mud flap attaches to and it has the first of two fender weather seals on its outer edge. It bolts to the inner fender. In the first picture, you can see the splash shield with new weather seal installed. I don't recall seeing them at any vendor, probably a junk yard visit or purchase from someone stripping out a car. Hope this helps. Jim Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38925-name-of-piece-in-fender/#findComment-349667 Share on other sites
March 17, 201114 yr Author comment_349668 Cool thanks now I just need to find one... On a side note the weather stripping on it, is that generic or oem? I have never seen that piece on zstore where I bought most of the other weatherstripping Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38925-name-of-piece-in-fender/#findComment-349668 Share on other sites
March 17, 201114 yr comment_349669 This is generic stripping I picked up at Autozone. Nissan originally used open cell foam for the two fender seals (not the welt seal along the top of the inner fender), which can hold water and lead to rust. This is closed cell foam, 5/16" X 3/4". It filled the gap nicely when the fenders went back on. I used the same product on the fender bulkhead closer to the door hinges.Jim Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38925-name-of-piece-in-fender/#findComment-349669 Share on other sites

March 18, 201114 yr comment_349713 Check your local hardware store. I picked up a coil of the closed cell foam at Ace Hardware. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/38925-name-of-piece-in-fender/#findComment-349713 Share on other sites
