I flat towed my car to the track for 8 years with no problems to the tranny or rearend. A trailer just makes it easier so you do not have to change out tires once you get to the track.

When I bought mine I towed it on the freeway with the front wheels up. I just put it in neutral and drove away. It was about 60 miles on the freeway. I say go for it.

And if it damages your tranny .... Welcome to the joy of the Z. You get to work on it as much as you drive it!
