Salt and Sand Spreaders in your area

In Nova Scotia Canada, the spreaders just sort of drop it in the lane of the salt truck. There is a small turning spreader ~ 1.5' off the ground just behind the cab.

In New Jersey the spreaders are near wind shield level and they throw the stuff out across two lanes from the rear driver corner of the truck.... they sand blast your windows if you get too close.. even a lane away to the side.

What is it like in your area.

Same crap here in Minnesota. Just got another dumping of the nasty white crap today. It was hell driving to work today. We had freezing rain first then it turned to snow and was hiding the ice underneith. I saw tons of smashed cars today, buses were stuck on hills ect. Not cool.

Yeah, whenever I see the plows, I stay as far away from them as I possibly can.

I'm in Connecticut, I started to see the newer trucks they're buying have the salt come out between the front and rear tires. Newspaper said it was because of the cost to repair vehicles behind them that were damaged.

Edmonton, Alberta.

What's a salt truck? Sanders? I've heard about them, haven't seen one. There are a few because now and then I see a corner with some sand on it.

Most of the city is ice. Now removal after 10 inches of pack. There's a reason most people in this city have trucks or vans.

Eastern Ontario uses the same setup as Nova Scotia for the cities and highways...but some local privateers have the salt box that slides into the pickup truck bed with the rear spreader... It's always best to give them room as they terrorize the mall and office parking lots...

I drove my Z's two days in a row this past weekend. Now the salt level on the roads is back to where is was in the heart of Winter. For a dusting of snow, they dumped s-loads of salt last night. It's completely pathetic. I suppose the town truck drivers need the OT. My outrageously high taxes at work.
