Posted March 30, 201113 yr comment_351407 I am reassembeling the rear control arms on my 71 240.I didnt check before taking them apart, but are the control arms a mirror image of eachother? Would one go basicly upside down from the other?I knew I should have taken pictures! There was some rear end dammage to the car, and I am thinking the shop may have ordered two of the same sides? I am SURE that I didnt mix them up. But I dont see Nissan making one that would be correct fitment for both sides.I kinda hope I am wrong cause I alread pit the new spindle pins in and I hope I dont have to do that again! Thanks,W Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39083-is-this-correct/ Share on other sites
March 30, 201113 yr comment_351409 The same arm (or transverse link) is used for both sides so one will look upside down. Probably done for lower manufacturing costs. March 30, 201113 yr comment_351417 No, assuming I understand your question, you already have it right. They are identical arms, so one is mounted upside down from the other. This threw me off at first, too. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39083-is-this-correct/#findComment-351417 Share on other sites
March 30, 201113 yr Author comment_351429 No, like a dummy, I put it the way I thought it would be, ie the same side down, and assembeled it that way, went to put it in and opps it dont fit!I was mainly asking if the arm was correct or if some other dummy bought the wrong one.I just got the pin out and its now in the frezer, will try to put it back after lunch. This time the right way, upsidedown! Thanks for the info guys.
