March 31, 201114 yr comment_351583 At first glance, it is a very nice looking car. It looks like it has been a garage queen since it was purchased - no TX registration or inspection stickers on the windshield, still has the CA plates. That raises the question of WHY? The bent clutch pedal is weird, how the heck did that happen? The rust on the back bumper might suggest the car was regularly exposed to salt air - a thorough inspection of the underside on a lift is in order, plus rooting around under the carpets. There was no "factory" A/C for the Series 1 cars, only aftermarket and they were not real effective. A complete replacement might be required. With all the updates, if the car checks out mechanically and visually, it might be a good buy - even at $7,500. But, be prepared to put more money in it. March 31, 201114 yr comment_351587 You got it. Factory seats are like this (altho this is not original, it is resto quality). April 1, 201114 yr comment_351609 "it might be a good buy - even at $7,500. But, be prepared to put more money in it" Totally agreed. A good paint job and slick outward appearance has fooled many a buyer. Take a REAL good look at the underside as well as the cavities behind the interior pieces. You can hide lots of body filler there. One good thing about it is it's altogether. By all means if you do buy it (and congratulations if you do) first thing to do is GET RID OF THOSE STOOPID LOOKING MUD FLAPS! THAT'S BLASPHEMY:mad: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39095-houston-members-local-240z-for-sale-need-advicethoughts/#findComment-351609 Share on other sites
April 1, 201114 yr comment_351619 Why are the SUs so tarnished? The rest of the engine looks very clean. That car actually looks very familiar. Does that belong to a member here? A lot of $ spent on things that would need to be undone to make it to my liking. Looks like paint or powdercoat - too ''even'' a colour all around to be patina of some sort . I'd offer less after a real good poke, prod and test ! I kinda like the wheels . , and the blue interior .
