April 5, 201113 yr comment_352102 Well I am thinking of picking up a set of those black Libra 4's in a 15x7, but I am not sure how that would look. In order for them to look right, the 'clover spokes' cannot be too long, or it looks weird. If the 4 thick spokes are the same size on the 14" and 15" rim and all that changes is the chrome or polished part, then it would look great I think. Very retro. I am trying to emulate the 4 spoke rim on the 71 SCCA Champion car I love so much. Just paying homage to a legend. April 5, 201113 yr comment_352105 I purchased my libres in '82 before I had a Z car. They were stacked in the corner of a garage where I worked. At another garage during a spring cleaning I bought a set of slotted mags for a Mazda and a Campagnolo Pantera wheel priced as aluminum scrap. August 8, 201410 yr comment_452992 There is a company in Florida called Retro Sport Wheels. Their Libre wheels look great. Anyone currently using their products? August 9, 201410 yr comment_453042 I sold a set of Libres for $600 + shipping a few years ago but the value has dropped out because you can't find tires, especially performance tires for the 14" wheels... August 9, 201410 yr comment_453044 The unavailability of 14" tires is why I went with the ZX turbo 4 spoke wheels. The Libre wheels are pretty, but what good does that do if the only source of tires is Coker? August 9, 201410 yr comment_453059 Not everyone "needs" performance tires. Good "S" or "H" speed rated tires will do just fine for most street driven 240Z's - and there are still enough of them out there in the sizes needed for a 5.5" wide wheel. Libres just look so period correct on a 240Z… I paid something like $24.95 each for mine. I bought them new from BRE in 1972. I bought a nearly new set around 1995 and paid $400.00 for them. Libres - the only way to go!! Carl B. August 9, 201410 yr comment_453062 My car came with a set of 14 x5.5 0 American Drag Master 6 hole mags and rock hard 10 year old tires. After doing some research, I found that 205R70 fit quite nicely and had the same revs/mile as the original 175HR14. Ended up getting General Tire Altimax RTs from Walmart for something like $70 each. - And an accurate speedometer to boot.
