May 11, 201113 yr Author comment_355388 Hi Bryan, I used this paint can bought from a local auto shop. It says Dark grey metalic for 1985or later.Safari , Cedlic, e.t.c. I want to have fun, for me it does not matter original color or not as long as the spoiler is original. kats Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39112-option-genuine-rear-spoiler/?&page=2#findComment-355388 Share on other sites
May 11, 201113 yr Author comment_355392 Thank you 240ZGL, Yours also looks great, seems to me it is an early one? My understandings is the aftermarket spoiler which we can buy in the U.S.A. is a bit bigger than the original. Yours looks like exact original. kats Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39112-option-genuine-rear-spoiler/?&page=2#findComment-355392 Share on other sites
May 11, 201113 yr comment_355397 Thanks, yes it is an early original. It had a slight bend in it and took a lot of work to make it right. This model (the one with "ribs") was available for all early S30 or only for Z432 ? For exemple, if I have an USDM car built on 12/70, this model is correct for my car ? In Japan, the spoiler was an optional item for any car listed in the brochure. Some other destinations had it as an optional item too. But the brackets inside seems a little flimsy so when we made the mold I opted to put a bottom plate on ours to strengthen the brackets and help keep moisture and dirt from getting under and laying on the paint. I am fairly sure that this spoiler was the model that BRE used and refined for their needs because my real BRE spoiler is slightly different. So we are going to be finishing the new mold for the BRE spoiler soon and again Our rear spoiler that is availible now is the same one Kats shows but with a bottom cover on it. Les Can you link your website? I'd love to buy one once I get to that stage.
