Correct L24 Head Gasket Cylinder Ring Diameter

I am just about to eyebrow the block and noticed my l24 HG has same ring diameter as my L28 HG's. Is this normal or just a lazy manufacturer who does "one size fits all"?

Original L24 gasket would have been smaller. I've actually got a NOS one and the fire rings are oval shaped. They measure 89mm one way x 84.5mm the other way.
