November 30, 201113 yr comment_373252 Nice work! some would call the car toast and scrap it. I love it when people do not give up. If it can be built, it can be repaired. January 6, 201213 yr Author comment_376572 Ok, so I thought I'd post some progress pics. Clearly the "first week of December" has come and gone, and I still don't have the car back. However, the body guy has been extremely conscienscious about locating and digging out minor rust spots in obscure places. In the interim I have been prepping the parts to go back on (i.e. polishing up light lenses, windshield trim and such). Hopefully within the next two weeks it will be back at the shop with reassembly underway. January 18, 201213 yr Author comment_378026 While it has taken 5 weeks longer than I was originally told, I received a message from the Body Shop guy that I have to get the car out of his shop this weekend because he needs the space. He shot and cleared it yesterday and will be buffing it out Tomorrow. Before Clear After Clear The car looks a bit gold due to the lighting, but it is actually silver. I am looking forward to getting it back in the shop and putting parts back on. February 15, 201213 yr comment_380838 You're car is in good hands. Most people would have sent it to the crusher. Another Z saved. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39172-major-ouchie/?&page=2#findComment-380838 Share on other sites
February 15, 201213 yr comment_380841 I have got to paint my car, just so many other things to do first. It makes me sick, but I love the way your silver laid down, it's my favorite color on a Z. February 16, 201213 yr comment_380941 That wont work for my hood damage.Look at how the front of the hood is pushed down and caved in at the forward support. The right is before, the left after. How did you do that work? My daughter was so kind as to dent my hood for me. She bend in the right side and the center has a small crease. Do tell.
