steve91tt Posted April 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2011 I spent a great weekend running the driver's edge event here at the Houston MSR track. Tonnes of fun and the Datsun did great! Here's a couple of laps from the last session today.

steve91tt Posted April 11, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted April 11, 2011 Looks like the car handles great! Nice driving too.The car handles spectacularly well given the fact that I am running on 400 tread wear tires. I'm now in the market for a set of track rims and tires. I'll keep the current ones for daily driver use and swap them out when it's time to play.
TQs30z Posted April 11, 2011 Share #5 Posted April 11, 2011 Nice video, thanks for sharing. May I ask where do you mount your camera and what kind of camera you use to video this? Ed
cygnusx1 Posted April 11, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 11, 2011 Ah, the addiction has taken hold quickly. I am beginning the motor rebuild because I blew mine at a driving event on Thursday. It never ends!
steve91tt Posted April 11, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted April 11, 2011 Nice video, thanks for sharing. May I ask where do you mount your camera and what kind of camera you use to video this?I simply zip tied my iphone to the rear view mirror. I mounted it hanging off to the driver's side and put a piece of rubber behind it. Very securely mounted and still lots of mirror left to see what's behind. I run Harry's lap timer app on the phone. It uses the phone's internal GPS, accelerometers and camera to record lap times, graph lap speeds, graph g loadings, record video and lots of other statistics. Great little app for the track. Marty Rogan Posted April 11, 2011 Share #8 Posted April 11, 2011 I would recommend Toyo RA1's. They handle great and last a really long time on a light car like the Z. How long is that track? How many turns? Looks like it was a fun track.Marty
steve91tt Posted April 11, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted April 11, 2011 16 turns, 2.4 miles. Very nice course for momentum cars like the Z. Thanks for the tire info. Time to go shopping!
260 z Posted April 11, 2011 Share #10 Posted April 11, 2011 Steve, where in Houston is the track and is it open to the public ?
steve91tt Posted April 11, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted April 11, 2011 It's just south of Houston on Hyw 288. It's open to the public for track day events. The next open event that I know of is the "Red Meat and Racing fuel" evening BBQ and track time on the 24th. I would love to make it out to that one.
