LOL I am old school like all of you! I miss the old usenet forums so I may be even older. I think the Zcar.com content manager from 5 years ago was easiest and fastest to navigate.

The software here is very powerful and pretty but content is too distributed and buried. As well the server seems very slow as pages take a long time to transfer compared to other sites I am browsing at the same time.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

yeah I had speed issues on mine as well when I installed this, which is why I turned off the Blog and CMS and installed a mod for the incoming page to replace the CMS that comes with this

It is a great program with awesome admin tools but with all of the added bells and whistles not part of the forum it can slow things down.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in on this one. I know change is hard, but, the old site was actually causing me all kinds of problems. It used old software and eventually got to a point where bots were able to get in and post things in areas I didn't want them. The change came quickly when a bot was able to get in and post a link on the top header that advertised some kind of Russian website. It was interesting timing because the developers of vBulletin (our core system) released a note saying they would no longer support the version of software we were running. I put 2 and 2 together and just made a split decision to move to the new software instead of trying to fix the old one.

The new software takes some time to get used to, I agree. You should try it from my end of the admin panel. :) But, I am slowly discovering ways we can get our old layout back again. The page "Latest Club Action" is my attempt at building the classic look again. If you look at it now, you'll notice I was able to find a way to show the threads instead of every post. My next task will be to find a way to display the last 24 hour posts.

We are slowly working to get this to the point where everyone is happy, but, I have to realize that not everyone will be in agreement about everything. When it comes to our site, we will always put the conversations first. We will always want quality over quantity and never sell out. ;)

I'm with Mike,

So many other websites used the old vBulletin system, and are changing over to the new one for the same reasons, so you might as well get used to it. Even the non-vBulletin websites are getting upgrades to keep out the crank-bots and spammers. Besides, it's all still there, plus a new thing or two, like the

NEW CHAT SYSTEM (nightly, and 8 -9pm Eastern U.S.)

All the forum sections are still there too, albeit slightly rearranged, perhaps.

If you click the 'What's New' in the top bar you can see the new discussions grouped by thread and I have found that to be the most similar to the "classic style". Hope that helps.

Clicking "what's new" has forever been the way in for me. Get in, see what needs to be adressed and get gone. WHAT'S NEW is buried now completely behind the white search box. It's now about a 3 click deal to circumnavigate to the new posts.

The new format is not so bad. My recommendation would be to somehow reduce the big empty spaces within a post. It causes a lot of wasted scrolling and limits the content on a pc screen. (like the big space below between the "....wastes time." and the Chinese words.

As well, having the option to have a full thread on one web page page rather than having to open new pages to follow the thread would be great. I find that opening pages takes too long and wastes time.

Double A plus plus Two thumbs up

I have played around on the site for the past couple of days and I really like it. Great job, Mike! I really like this format and the organization structure. I seem to be able to find things so much easier now. Under the "Whats New" tab, I would like to see the thread postings go back a little further in time. Like another page or two.

^^^I agree another couple of pages or a set amount of days to choose, 2, 4, week, to go back on if we miss a few days.

I am unable to post photos from my computer jpeg to the site as before. The window comes up with some random photos previously posted.

1.You have to click on "manage files" button in advanced mode.

2. Look closely at that pop up window. There is an "add files" button to click on

3. Then a "select files" button to click on (which brings you to a file manager window where you can browse your hard drive)

4. select the files (TIP: control key with left mouse allows multiple files)

5. Click open

6. click upload files

7. Then click on "done"

Here are pics as I walked through the procedure to ensure it worked. :)

You did what you had to do Mike with the club website and I tip my hat to you for the very hard work you do. I honestly don't know how your able to keep up with it all.

Like I said before, I'm just an "old School" guy that likes to keep things simple. Like it or not, some things just have to change and I know that. I'll for sure get used to the new site here. It's already kinda growing on me :D
